Supervision & Consultation

Therapy is a very personal and intimate process. Hence, it is crucial for you to feel safe and comfortable with your therapist.  I encourage all prospective clients to initially shop around for the "best-fit" therapist.  Once you find the right therapeutic match for you, the sky is the limit in what you may be able to achieve in therapy.

I generally work from an Inter-Subjective / Psychodynamic framework.  I have found that exploring our interpersonal relationships, including the relationship between therapist and client, in the present moment, is highly effective in overcoming many of the conflicts people encounter in their lives.  I feel that all individuals are unique. Therefore, I collaborate with clients to determine the focus of treatment and use the approach that will suit them the most.  All of my clients have the option for long-term treatment if they are interested in further examination and discovery of their true self.  In addition, I consult with experts in the field on a weekly basis and collaborate with other treating professionals in an effort to provide the most effective treatment to my clients.

I encourage you to explore my website and feel free to schedule a consultation appointment.

Will It Take For Me To Feel Better?”

Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time therapy can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, the factors that are driving you to seek therapy and any barriers to treatment that may exist for you.

How often do I need to come in?

+

I highly recommend that when you begin therapy, we meet on a weekly basis. It has been proven to be most effective and powerful based on countless studies and my professional opinion. After we get started, we will work collaboratively and increase or decrease the frequency of your sessions based on your progress and need.

Do you take my insurance?

+

I’m an out-of-network provider. That means that I’m not contracted with any health insurance company. You make your payment directly to me on the day of the service provided. If you have a PPO plan, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This can help you reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Please call your insurance company to learn about your outpatient mental health coverage and deductible.

Do you prescribe medication?

+

No, I’m a psychologist and provide talk therapy. I would refer you to a psychiatrist who is a medical doctor, should you need to be evaluated or monitored for medication.

Can I start individual therapy with you and then bring my partner in for couples therapy?

+

At the beginning of our work together, we will decide on the modality of treatment, whether we will be proceeding with Individual or Couples therapy. It is not ethical for your individual therapist to also be your couples therapist and vice versa. It’s important for your therapist to remain as unbiased as possible when treating the couple or individual. With that said, if I’m working with you individually, and from time to time, you would like to bring a guest to your session and use my help to speak to them, we can arrange for that. Or, if you are working with me as a couple, I may meet with you individually at times to be able to assess where you may be stuck and to help you bring your concerns into the room with the couple.
